Kick off spring with diving in Cozumel

Experience Cozumel with a trip that blends the simplicity of an all-inclusive dive schedule with the charm of a more local, personal stay. You’ll settle into your boutique accommodation and spend evenings exploring some of our favorite restaurants around town. Add three days of boat diving with Blue Mystic Divers on Cozumel’s world-class reefs, and you’ve got an easy, relaxed getaway that’s all about great diving and good company. Not certified yet? Open Water certification is available during the trip for a limited number of guests.

Cozumel is known around the world for its effortless drift diving along the Mesoamerican Reef, the second-largest barrier reef system on the planet. Instead of swimming against the current, you’ll move with it, floating past coral structures, reef walls, and colorful marine life.

Conditions during this time of year are consistently excellent. Visibility often reaches 80 to 100 feet, and currents are typically steady but comfortable for all levels of divers.

Nature isn’t predictable, but you may have the chance to dive with sea turtles, nurse sharks, and eagle rays. There will also be schools of tropical fish and thriving coral formations on every dive. Plus, you can find smaller critters tucked into sponges, ledges, and crevices. Many sites also include swim-throughs, which are quite fun to explore!

Expedition Details

Upon arrival, you will make your way to your lodging.

If flying into Cancun: You will need to travel to Playa del Carmen and then take a ferry to Cozumel. From the ferry terminal, you are about a 10-15 minute walk from the accommodation. Taxis are available to make the trip easier.

If flying into Cozumel: Take a taxi from the airport directly to the accommodation.

As with all diving, we are never guaranteed wildlife sightings, but we hope to see turtles, toadfish, nurse sharks, and even eagle rays. Of course, there will be plenty of reef fish and enormous coral structures to experience.

What to expect from a dive trip in Cozumel

Water Temperature: Cozumel’s water stays warm year round, typically ranging from 78–84°F (26–29°C) in March. Expect comfortable conditions with excellent visibility, often between 60–100 feet.
Exposure Protection: Most divers are comfortable in a 3mm full wetsuit. I also highly recommend a boat coat. My go to coat is by Surf-fur, and you can get a discount with my code AZUL.
Dive Gear to Bring: Mask, fins, regulator, BCD, SMB, and dive computer. Tanks and weights are included.

Getting here is simple—Fly directly into Cozumel International Airport (CZM) from several major U.S. cities, or fly into Cancún (CUN) and take a short shuttle and ferry ride to the island.
