Nitrox Certification in Komodo 2019-10-03T15:34:26+08:00

Your Nitrox Diver Specialty in Komodo National Park

The Nitrox Specialty is one of the most popular PADI courses and for good reason!

Do you want to be able to have more no decompression time? Are you interested in safer diving? If so, then diving with Enriched Air Nitrox is right for you!

Nitrox is the perfect option for those multi-dive days or any dive where you would like more time to explore. The best part is that you can take advantage of the Nitrox certification even as an Open Water Diver. You don’t need to dive deep to see the benefits of diving with Nitrox!

Have more flexibility in your dive planning

When using EANx during your dives, you will be breathing less Nitrogen due to the higher concentration of Oxygen (EANx 32% or 36%). Therefore, the amount of nitrogen that will accumulate in your tissues for the same period of time and depth will be less, in comparison with breathing air.

For this reason, one of the main benefits of using Nitrox is that it allows you longer bottom times, expanding your NDL (no-decompression limits) compared to the use of standard compressed air. This means that you will be able to stay at a deeper depth for a longer amount of time, as long as your air consumption allows it. On certain occasions, depending on the planning of the day, using EANx can allow you to make shorter surface intervals. Also, when making several dives in one day, using Nitrox in all or several of the dives will give you longer bottom times for repetitive dives. When you consider all of these points of flexibility, you can see that using nitrox for your dive planning allows you to make many different kinds of plans, depending on what you’re interested in for that day.

Combine this ‘dry,’ course with fantastic dives in the Komodo National Park

Not only is nitrox great for giving you more options in your dive planning, but the course itself is also very flexible! It is possible to take the course by itself either as a dry course (which means no ‘in-water’ practice) or with 2 dives as is included in our standard course package.

Combine the Nitrox Course with other PADI courses

If you are taking other dive courses, for example, the Advanced Open Water or Rescue courses, you can do Nitrox at the same time. You can even get certified as a Nitrox Diver in conjunction with your Open Water Diver Course training! In this case, it only takes a few extra hours of theory and you would take Nitrox for one of the dives of the Open Water Course.
